The photographs of Johannes Walther liberate photography from the burden of indicating reality and conveys it in spiritual spaces. Concurrently these pictures provide alternatives of navigational aid in receptioning images and leave the door open for further communication.
Walther´s photographic work extends the conception of generative photography of artists such as Hein Gravenhorst or Gottfried Jäger – based on Max Bense’s generative aesthetics of the 1960s – and accompanies the idea into the 21th century.
Johannes Walther is based in Berlin, Germany. He works wherever light is attracting him.
